I was looking up something electricity related when I noticed what looked an awful lot like the brake booster from an AW11. I clicked, and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Cool stuff, good information, SR20s, etc. Enjoy!

I’m holding out for the nuclear and/or hydrazine rocket powered MR2.

Powered by the tears of Miata owners.

That has to be the heaviest MR2 in existence. They literally just filled every compartment with batteries. I doubt it is fast or fun to drive in this state. I love how in one picture he has the batteries in one of the compartments and says there is still room for stuff...
would be a CP at anything over 500...

You’d be surprised at how many things you can fit behind the seats. I agree on the “still have room” bit, though. He may as well have just put two more batteries in there. Speaking of $500 electric conversions, there was an MR2 conversion for sale for that much in my area for a little while. I never went to go look at it, though. I probably should have. Even at this weight, it’s less than most modern economy cars.

I think I wouldn’t really trust the home brew battery set up either though and could probably be made lighter and more powerful with an easier engine swap.
It’s still 1000 lb. heavier than the 2005 mr2 spyder with from what I can decipher (I think he’s trying to bury his power figures) ~60 less hp. He also makes a claim that it takes about 10 hp to get a small car to 55 mph... This sounds like the opposite of fun.
His calculations are very suspect and I think his efficiency claim of about 92% is ridiculous. This guy is delusional.

I believe the efficiency claim. Electric motors are extremely efficient. You’re right about the power, though. He’s claiming a top speed of 65, which translates to under 20 hp.

I think the real solution to fun/dangerous electric cars is to build a giant bumber car style track and have no/few batteries on the cars and have them be stripped out beaters...
emphasis on the dangerous
