I hate searching for the "right wheel."

I currently have 17” wheels, but will be needing to upgrade to 18’s because of a brake upgrade.

I love the looks of slightly concave 5-spokes with a deep lug pad, but haven’t found anything in the layout I’d like or the right sizing without having to spend $3k on wheels.

For example, Compomotives:

Or the ones on my car currently, Speedline Mistral 6’s:

go with some corvette wheels. Lots of options and Im sure they can be had for relatively cheap.

Yeah, that’s the challenge as OEM C5 Z06 wheels will probably be the best bet as many of the others, I don’t like the style or fitment with the crazy +45 to +58 offsets.

Don’t want to go with el cheapo repros because they’re heavy as hell.

One day, I will own a GTV6 with a set of MO5s on it.

It’s one of the most perfect combinations of car and wheels.

Are you running spacers currently or thats how the stock fitment is? I’ll tell you what though...you’ll never get the money you spent on wheels, when you pay the big bucks. I have a few reps sets that I run due to local road conditions and weather. For shows and such I stick to OEM plus cause they’re cheap enough, and generally look good. Id kill for a set of saw blades.

Good luck, I’m just now going to the WS6 17”. What width are you intending to run?

Compomotive MOs... so sexy. Did Borbet ever make 18” Type As in 5x4.75? I know they made them for 5x120 BMWs which are pretty close.

10.5” width for track duty.

Running 1/2” spacers to push those speedlines out so it brings it to something like a +35 offset.

I’m not after recouping money on wheels, I’m just not wanting to spend $3K on what will probably be a consumable with race slicks. Reproduction vette wheels range from 3-5lbs extra per wheel and are more porous in some designs. I don’t need that if I’m pulling 1+G on a track...

Oh if this is for track, and not just daily wheel with some advantage to them I would spend the cake on a good set of wheels then. How often do you visit the strip? yea the weight is a killer, isnt it 1lb rotational = 10lbs static.

Hardly ever visit a drag strip. Too far of a drive for them around here. It’s all auto-x stuff and corner carving for me.

Not too bad, just a heads/cam V6 Firebird. Good torque, lot of fun with the 6 speed.

I actually have a watts link and a new auburn race differential that I’m gong to be putting in this summer, will help control the live axle a little better.
