Just hit 2400 Miles on my 2015 white grom (msx125) and so far so good.

That’s what I would have said if you asked me about the bike Friday morning. 20 Minutes later I would have said it’s a big ole pile of junk ! not really but getting a flat tire on a motorcycle is 100% worse than a flat on a car. The way I came up with 100% difference is because you can easily change a tire if you think with your dip stick. However the grom (and everyother bike made) doesn’t come with a spare for those 100% problem times.

Nope, instead you get to call your local Honda dealer and have them tell you it will take 5 biz days to get a new tire in and that they wouldn’t install the tire if I didn’t purchase it from them.

Well MIDDLE FINGER TO YOU SIR. I ended up finding a tire in DFW while I was in town turning wrenches on the datsun. We’ll see how much it cost to put on when I stop by the motorcycle shop on the way home.

OK now that I got that out. The bike has been great as any 2015 anything should be.. It’s slow, It’s fun , It’s affordable.

Last week a buddy wanted to ride the grom in return letting me ride his 2000 SV 750 ( I didn’t know they made a SV750) Now before I say this I want ya’ll to know I’ve ridden liter bikes in the past and didn’t die as we all say we will when looking at a street bike.

THIS SV750 was the most dangerous bike on the road. For 1 reason and that reason is “Power Delivery” up until 4000RPM the bike is a dud. When I say dud I mean the grom could keep up with this thing. BUT at 4250 - 4500 the bike comes alive in such a violent way that I’m surprised it didn’t spin the tire at 30mph. Needless to say I won’t be getting back on that thing.

While buying the tire I saw this helmet and after using a coworkers helmet for 6 months I wanted my own. His was not only heavy but un balanced with 5 too many vents, bells and I wouldn’t be surprised if it also had a built in rape whistle. I snagged a Bell Vortex helmet with very few bells no whistles and it seems much much lighter. Now if I just had a bike to ride -_-

there IS no factory SV750. there was the SV 1000...

however... there are 750 Big bored kits for the 650. thats (probaby) what you rode (and a badly tuned one at that)

I’ve ridden the R1 shown above before and while it was scary fast at least it provided a predictable power delivery. Why anyone would purchase a SV650 and then decide they needed a big bore kit I don’t understand it’s a old man bike in my opinion and I would think someone wanting more from their SV would just go buy a bigger bike. SMH people..

probably blew the engine and bored it then (i think thats whats going to end up happening to mine)

the difference is, mine will be properly tuned. SV650s have some of the most linear and predictable bower bands on the market
