and I did pretty well, thank you very much.
At age 45, I had never ridden a motorcycle before, and I decided to learn this summer. (Save the midlife crisis jokes, I’ve heard them all in the last month or so.) In Pennsylvania, if you hold a regular driver’s license, you can get your motorcycle permit for $10. You can then sign up to take a completely free 16-hour class offered through the state Department of Transportation, at the end of which you take your road test and they stamp your permit and voila, you have your motorcycle license. Tomorrow the class finishes up, so wish me luck.

thats awesome! and even more so that its so easy and cheap to do in your state. I hope to never stop learning things and give people the finger if they call it a midlife crisis.

Once I have my gear together, and a bit of extra money (MSF courses aren’t free, sadly), I’ll be taking mine as well. Still probably won’t be riding for a while, as the old Kawasaki I’m looking at is probably a few months away from being what I would personally classify as road-worthy, but it should still be fun.
