from this:
to that. tinted the headlights. Still have the HIDs which are still bright as balls.
thoughts?

my balls aren’t bright. How many more X-rays do I need before they are?

its the other way. they start off bright, and the more you X-ray, the dimmer they get

hmm, I guess i should talk to my healthcare provider about his liberal use of the x-ray machine then.

When I think with my balls, they prove wrong most of the time. They get the idea but the fuck it up. Does that mean they are not bright?

I think it’s a dumb mod, because it’s unsafe...
It’s already hard enough for a motorist to see a bike rider, and you compound that by making it harder, even with HIDs

That was kinda on the back of my mind the whole time...lucky it only film so if i dont like it, it just peels right off.
I’ll use it for a week and see how it goes

Sure.. I just want you to be safe... I ride a 90deg L-twin bike too...
Please be safe :) As long as you understand the risks, I suppose you can’t be made to do anything you don’t wish to do

Just tried it at night. Its not that bad actually. For putting aroubd Toronto or southern on tario at night its fine.
Once i head up to thundrr bay though, its coming right off

Not safe, I suggest you remove it unless you want nobody to see you.

It also depends on whether the headlights are always-on when the bike is running. Most US market bikes have mandatory headlights when the engine is running.
Plus the SV-S fairing with two headlights has twice the lumen output of a bike with a single halogen headlight, anyway, so if the film is less than 50% tinted, it should still be above the minimum legal output, plus the additional lumen output of the HIDs.
Canada may be different, and European bikes do sometimes have the ability to run with the headlights turned off.
Depending on how much brighter the HIDs are than the stock halogens, they may exceed the filter rate of the film, when on, although obviously not as bright as un-filtered light output.
Not ideal, but probably still brighter than 90% of most car’s DRLs which are usually half-output halogen headlights, or purpose-specific LEDs that are not headlight-grade output.
It may not be ideal, but I doubt it is a deal breaker for visibility, especially not during the day for DRL use. Filtered high beams at night might be better than the filtered low beams, but won’t be capable of the output of un-filtered high-beams, or the throw distance. Perhaps it isn’t ridden often in open areas at night, though.
The question that remains, is the style worth the reduction from ideal, un-filtered high-output light.

For me? definitely not

I like light output, myself. I would be figuring out how to incorporate at least one Clearwater Lights Sevina on the thing, but that is just me...
7500 optically focused LED lumens from 7 high end emitters, and dimmable for use when blinding other motorists isn’t necessary.
I just wish stuff like this were DOT certified for high-beam use... paired with a JW Speaker 90mm modular LED low beam (which is SAE/DOT certified, and has the proper cutoff) would make a killer pair of motorcycle headlights, especially in a vertically stacked arrangement.
I have some ideas for a custom fairing with these behind an extended clear polycarbonate windscreen.
But not enough money for any of it.
