Don’t make fun of the C6 hood-hole again!
It still looks like cutting a hole in a cover to expose...yet another cover.

I’ve just learned that certain FP people hate chrome and thus hate joy and life and are evil.

On a scale of couldn't care less to kill it with fire, how do you feel about having several exposed screws unceremoniously drilled into the parcel shelf of a car?

FP’d eh?

They should make a C7 ZR1...Give it a polycarbonate window bolted down by exposed fasteners... :D

Chrome is only okay on older cars, now it just looks cheap, with very few exceptions.

I hate it so much. If I had the luck to end up with a ZR1 I’d get it filled.

Chrome is best used to set off angles and to highlight swept or semi-platonic shapes. Modern cars having fewer angles and edges, and having no formal solids other than “blob” to illustrate, don’t usually have good places to put chrome. Chrome also doesn’t look good unless it’s actually metal and not pseudo-chrome plastic, and having it as a featureless mass that might as well be painted on doesn’t work either. This means that when a modern designer adds chrome, he steps back, thinks “that’s it?” and doesn’t see much impact, which leads him to think either that chrome is useless or that more is needed - both are wrong. Now, it is possible for chrome to be gaudy and still fit a car reasonably well - I’d class about 50% of the available chrome tack for the C7. It has lines to accentuate, it’s a combination of distinct solids, it has naff little styling touches that stand on their own, and in short is an invitation for *correct* chrome use. The fact that the aftermarket aren’t as good as a proper OEM stylist would be is on the OEM.
In short, Ferrrrd razorblade grill, no - C7 grill bar, yes. See Mercedes for fairly good exercise of chrome in general.

Is it brand brand new?

That’s exactly what it is though. It’s not a view to the supercharger it’s a view to the engine cover. I don’t get it either

No, it's on my 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that I'm selling.

I know, I was being a dork. On old cars its okay. I’m not even going to tell you about the back deck of my first Firebird....
