Hm, yes, I did not forsee the issue that Kinja recorded its birthday on Kinja. Apparently Junetober 83st is its birthday.

The only explanation I can think of is if some Kinja clock is running on UTC (the time in Greenwich, UK) and incorrectly translating it to our time. On Daylight Savings Time, UTC is 4 hours ahead of EDT. Therefore, 9:30pm EDT would be 12:3oam UTC, making it tomorrow despite the post having been made just two hours before.
Still, it’s Kinja’d.

It’s clearly capable of telling what time zone I’m in, so why it’d use a different method of finding when yesterday was is beyond me.

What time zone are you in? I believe Oppo is on EDT.

EDT :/

Your in EDT also then. Then I’ve got nothing. Kinja is screwed.

I don’t think that it is capable of detecting your time zone. You just happen to be in the same time zone (EDT) that it displays by default worldwide.
I’m in PDT and I always need to subtract three hours from whatever Kinja displays. It’s especially annoying when scheduling posts.
