At work in a meeting, it was quite silly. Now I want to crawl in a hole or hand out ice cream cones and hearts to everyone. Not that I was that out of line, or that it wasn’t deserved, but I should have just accepted my assignment without making a deal about it.

It happens, everything will be ok and the embarrassment should pass.
In my office the former department head threw a telephone down the hall, punched a hole in the wall, and stormed out one day. Great guy, just doesn’t handle stress well. He still works here, but he’s no longer in charge.
I have yet to really lose it, but it almost happened Monday morning. My senior engineer keeps pushing my buttons, so I think it’s only a matter of time.

I have a deadline for something on Friday. They initially asked me to come back and do something real quick for them for something else. Then they said that instead they wanted me to show somebody else how to do it. I asked if they really just wanted me to sit next to somebody all day and then they asked why it would be all day. I told them that it takes a lot longer to show somebody new how to do something than doing it myself. The other person made it seem like I wasn’t willing to help the person ‘Well, everyone’s got to learn at some point, we’re off teaching you this and that’. I said, ‘look, that’s not the point, the point is expect me to be a day late on my other stuff’. The end. But the way they reacted made me seem pompous.

Ye’, bosses and other colleagues have a knack of asking for something in a ridiculous timescale and then taking the hump and making us feel bad when we say something has to give somewhere or it can’t be done.
They can’t comprehend that you need to train someone when your not busy so they are of use when you are busy, training someone when your busy leads to mistakes and improper training.

What type of temper loss was it?
Was it an angry, table flipping type?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Or a more subtle type?

At my previous job I once yelled at a manager until he cried. I felt bad afterward, but he never made that same mistake again.
