Who needs a $70k truck when you can have an Acura TL?

Yes, friends and family, that is 20’ of 2x10 lumber and my Acura sees more trips to Home Depot with as much or more crap jammed in the trunk as 90% of the people who bring their pickups. In the trunk I have 8 bags of gravel, 8 bags of sand, fertilizer, 2 cans of paint, rollers/brushes, masonry anchors, and the lumber.

This new shifting technique is all the rage with the kids these days

Kinja'd!!!

It barely fits, but it still fits.

When the kid arrives later this year I won’t be able to take him to the Depot and get lumber at the same time. Oh well.

If it shifts, it fits.

Lets see your Acura tow that though. And it’s a $56K truck, not $70K.

The thought of getting a splinter while I shift would be quite fear inducing.

If I needed a mobile home, yes, I would buy a real truck to do so. But I keep having this conversation in my head about why I need a truck right now— and I don’t. Yet.

My $7k TL can do everything I need it to do right now, which is more than I’d say 50% of truck owners do on a 95% basis (that is to say only half of pickup owners actually use their trucks for hauling a bed full of mulch, an ATV on the bed, or towing— which accounts for about 5% of the miles they put on the truck)

This truck is largely used for towing and I’d say about 80-90% of the miles are towing and about the other 10-20% is if my grandfather works in the winter then he dailies it.

Build-out on my wife’s pet grooming salon this past April, replete with Husky “Goatse” bags.

And a day early for #tbt, the spring of 2003; renovating my buddy’s basement.
