But which one is better, the V8, the biturbo, the turbo or the diesel?

Get the V8 tri-turbo diesel. It’s the best because it has all of those things instead of just one.

I lean towards the diesel, because that was the one we owned, it can be had with a manual and it somehow does 30mpg.

XC90 + Noble M600 swap would be the best sleeper ever.

I’m considering a 5cyl turbo. I doubt there are any manual ones in the US though.

You either go diesel for efficiency, or V8 with an aftermarket exhaust for glorious power and noise.

My father had a 2006 V8 Ocean Race Edition, and it was truly wonderful. It made a wonderful noise, and it was also surprisingly quick. On the downside, it only got about 17 MPG (US).

It was very comfortable to drive, and I think the XC90 has a timeless design.
