Those of you who go to Track Days, how far is your track and what is the cost?
I’m curious to know the averages of drag strips and tracks in the US and other countries. The closest track to me is 1h away and it’s the Toronto Motorsports Park, Race Cayuga. It has a road course and a race track. I wanted to know if 1 hour away is about the average for oppo.
Also some tips about the track experience and stuff. I might go with my stock civic one day just for the experience.

Putnam Park is about 45 minutes - 1 hour from Indianapolis and a track day is usually around $250 - 300. You’d be fine in your stock Civic as you’d be in the amateur class with limited passing and (typically) a right-seat coach.

Two tracks, Thompson Speedway and Palmer Motorsports Park, are both about 90 minutes from me. New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a little further, and Lime Rock Park further still, so an hour away is pretty good.
A stock Civic should do just fine in the Novice run group, as long as it’s in solid mechanical condition. You’ll want to at least bleed your brakes and put some DOT4 fluid in there. It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra set of front brake pads and the tools to swap them at the track, just in case you burn them up. Better yet, put the new ones on now and keep your old ones as backups. I’ve written a bunch more about prepping your car for the track

, but that’s the tl;dr version.
In the US I’d recommend the SCCA’s Track Night In America as a great way to try it out for the first time, but that obviously doesn’t apply to Canada. Still, you’ll typically get three to four 20-30 minute sessions on the track, usually with an instructor riding along to help you drive better, plus classroom sessions on general techniques and tips on that particular track.

My tracks are 30 minutes (for the easy one with no elevation change) and 2.5 hours (for the super fun one with 400 ft of elevation change per lap). I usually shoot for budget ones occurring during the week that end up around $150-$200 for 2+ hours of on track time. After including consumables I average around $350-$400 per track day

I’m lucky to be 45 minutes from Road Atlanta and 25 minutes from Atlanta Motorsports Park. US$250 for the day, but that adds up really fast.
Barber is 2.5 hours away, Roebling Road is 4.5 hours, Carolina MP is 4 hours, and Daytona is 6.
But Atlanta Motor Speedway is only 2 hours.

Hallett is an hour from my front door and it’s just $125 for their High Speed Touring days (five fifteen-minute sessions)!
And it's pretty cheap to rent on a weekday, too. A group of friends and I did last year - it was great.
