Tomorrow I visit the grave of a former friend who was murdered, along with her boyfriend and unborn child. Tonight I am playing some old racing games because Jules bianchi passed away and is surprisingly reminding me of my own mortality. Considering my workplace almost exploded this week, and a driver passed away who is almost my age exactly (our birthday is just a few days apart and we are/were both 25) it is.......haunting.
I don’t want what I love to be my death. Not like this. Please, please, please, please, PLEASE! Don’t make our sports more deadly. None of us deserve to die in the sake of *trying* not even a sure thing, but TRYING, to make it more interesting for people to watch form the safety of being behind TVs......

Seems like everyone is having a shit night. I’m pulling for you, man. We’re all in this together.

Heh. Makes me laugh cause it reminds me of the end of a red green skit.

That’s the point. Red Green is one of the many great men who helped shape me. Remember, if she don’t find you handsome, she should at least find you handy!

You have inspired me to do a red green marathon tonight. Thanks. Feeling better already lol.

I kind of know how you feel, last week a friend of my from Kindergarten passed away from cancer. We weren’t very close anymore since during grade school my family moved away but it really stopped me in my tracks when I heard the news.

On a similar note, as I was on the road while moving, I started thinking about the past. I started thinking about all the stupid shit I’ve done, and how many second or third chances I’ve had. I should be dead from some of the things I’ve done, but I’m not. I always thought I had shit luck, but things went my way in places they shouldn’t have. For the first time in while, that made me glad to be alive and grateful that something/someone was looking out for me. It really made me think about life(8 hour drives tend to do that.) I’m done with the reckless behavior. So don’t think your invincible and do stupid shit, but don’t worry about your fate, something is going to get us all eventually.

yeeeeeaaaahhhhhh..........funny story........I am kinda the guy who had a jetta drop on his head and I drove it to the hospital (after putting it back together) to get a diagnosis of “you’re just fine”. Also........the circumstances behind my friends’ death is very public and was actually covered on gawker as well as the shitty opinions of every mouthbreather on jez and gawker who barely have the brain power to drink overpriced coffee from starbucks without drowning in a sea of saliva and ignorance.

And positive vibes to you as well. I was in a crummy mood tonight anyway (but not for as legit a reason as you) and the Bianchi news hit me harder than I was expecting. I think I'm going to curl up with a beer and a book and try to escape.

It’s hitting a lot of us because Jules wasn’t a “top level” driver yet. He still had a lot of passion and was easily seen as “one of us”. But that’s what makes it hurt. It could have been any of us who take our cars on the track. One bad day. THat’s how close all of us are, even at the top level, from death. And what twists the knife is that there are those who sit behind screens who demand for more blood. I’msorry, but no. I will never agree wit the idea that a sport should simply be “more dangerous”.

Well.... That really sucks. I hope one of TEH INTERWEBZ GODZZ grants you a nice McLaren F1 with the keys in your mailbox and free insurance. And gas. Gas would also be good. Free gas for life.

I think I remember that. Anyways, just keep your head up and try not to worry :)

I would drive my FIesta ST for a million miles if I had free gas for it.

lol.
Do you turn down sex with someone because it makes them hornier for the next person?

Warning: The gray squishy thing between our ears can be a motherfucker some times. Process the thoughts, but try and not let them get to you, too much.
As for what you love being your death, may I offer a bit of philosphy: Would you rather die at the hand of something you love? Or die at the hand of something that you hate or - worse - are indifferent to?
Now, please pardon my morbid curiosity, but what happened at work that almost cause and explosion? (I’m a health and safety engineer, so things like this always interest me).

Yes?

A) WHile I would rather die doing what I love, I would not want to die because people who don’t share the experience demand it. THose who are saying “F1 is tooo safe!” are probably crapping their pants right now. Same with the people who go “Modern cars are too safe!” yet I bet if you in your 1985 GTI and I in my 2015 FiST were to get into an 85mph accident, I am far less likely to die. Sorry that my Fiesta is “safer” though......
B) I am a chemist for a chemical company and we had a runaway reaction almost take out a building......again.

It was a joke, you know. Also, buy some lottery tickets. Your luck is bound to turn around. Becoming a millionaire is practically like free gas

Iwas aware you were joking, but I still had to harass a bit.

A) Concur. Die doing what you love because you love it, not to entertain others - they can live vicariously through someone else.
A1) As for modern cars being too safe, the only criticism I have about that is that with traction control, accident avoidance (or whatever that automatic braking thing that Volvo has is called), etc... I fear that driving a car (meaning: actually managing throttle, brake and steering response so you don’t lose traction) is going to be a lost skill in the coming decades, like driving stick.
B) Holy shit. Yeah, I used to work at a chemical plant in Central NJ (we made Vinyl Acetate Ethylene Copolymer, also known as paint and/or glue). I’m told that in the 80’s they had a runaway reaction and they had to close down the adjacent highway because they thought it was going to blow (the cooling system and the PRD’s were barely keeping up). Glad you avoided a nasty fate. Stay safe and remember: Life is good behind the blast wall.
