Jules Bianchi died today, The first casuality in F1 since Ayrton Senna.

Kinja'd!!!

Maybe F1 should look at what Indycar and Nascar are doing and bring their own recovery equipment instead of comissionning farming equipment from locals.

This whole thing sucks.

Stop, just, no, that statement is incorrect on quite a few levels.

Nobody asked for this to happen. The argument is not for the walls to come back in, and to ditch the safety standards, but to get rid of the miles of asphalt runoff.

If you go off track, you go off track into grass/sand and you feel the punishment of getting stuck.

This is a horrible horrible occurance, but nobody asking for danger asked for dead drivers.

And the “farm equipment from locals” is to get the cars off track. I doubt anybody ever considered the possibility of somebody hydro-planing into the back of a tractor. And if they did, the risk is within the acceptable requirements.

You have to remember, with safety standards, racing is an inheritly dangerous sport. There is a possibility of death. Is this a damn a waste of a young & very capable driver with his entire life in-front of him? Yes.

No, just no. Stop. Jules hit a tractor removing a car, it was under caution, he hydroplaned and then coma now this.

There is nothing wrong with F1 besides management right now, safety is fine.

More danger is fine. Not having a safety car or virtual safety car like wec that limits speed to ~80kph whilst a fucking crane is out in a run off area is two different things. I wish people would stop being so damn stupid.

as you can see, it was done after the accident. And it’s still not anywhere as good as wec’s system.

What the hell does more power, more grip, more pushing the limits of performance to save a sport which is dying of boredom have to do with hitting a fucking poorly placed recovery vehicle under a fucking safety car?

That is very sad to hear. I was watching the race when this happened and it was a mess, I don’t know that there is a whole lot they could have done differently. The weather was bad and he came into that corner hot, my guess is not knowing there was a yellow flag.
