Have one last cool car from the shop this week, this B5 S4 that one of my guys just picked up for $4k. Big plans for it, MUAHAHAHA.
Have a great weekend, Oppo!

I hope those plans are giving it to me for free!

I want one of these someday. I'm not even scared

Well wouldn’t that technically be Step 9213011, because they have to remove everything around it first?
-I’m sorry I tried to be funny.-

True story, but he still loves them.

They’re not what i’d call unreliable, they’re just not too easy to work on in some respects.

I’m sure I would too, once everything was replaced. I’ve considered a B5 S4 project several times, but forum frustration stories have stayed my hand. I really just want a modern version of them: AWD, easily upgraded forced-induction that isn’t a 4-cylinder, manual, and reasonably compact while seating 4.
Current S4 is huge, and everything B5 size/weight is stuck with a 2.0 or less. Closest modern versions are the 235xi (does it even come manual?), ATS-V (no AWD, $$$), RS3 (sideways 5-cylinder, $$$, still want one).

It needs some cosmetics, but for the money it’s pretty damn solid.

$4K? Good to know I could still make some money on mine (bought mine for $2.5K)
How’s the mechanical condition? Or is it just the classic 15 year old Audi Interior Syndrome?

Mechanicals are actually pretty good, mostly just needs suspension and some cosmetics.

Mine will eventually need a suspension refresh. Mainly coilovers and the freaking control arm bushings.

This was always one of my favorite rear ends.
