!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . This. Fucking. Car. Specifically, this 1966 Mercedes-Benz 250S sedan. I’ve seen this for sale on my local CL for months at a time, but then the rare four-on-the-floor S-Klasse disappeared without a trace. Now it’s back with $1,000 tacked onto the older price.
It’s rusty, needs interior wood trim, and probably in terrible condition. Certainly not in any kind of condition to ask for an additional $1,000 over the previous price of $3,800. I’m guessing someone snatched it up and thinks they can flip it without putting any work into it while hiding the extensive holes and rust spots on the body. The ad claims it’s “rust free”, which is definitely stretching the truth about this car.
Still, it’s a running and driving ‘60s S-Class sedan with a very scarce floor mounted manual transmission. Hopefully someone buys this and saves it from a life of being left on the street while waiting for a new owner.

That’s about what “running project” level W108s go for. Great, great cars though, and the 4 speed is a big bonus! There’s a really nice looking one on my local CL for $12k, way too much, but still a damn nice looking car in dark blue.

If I had the extra money and a place to put it, I’d be between this one or a ‘72 280SE 4.5L that needs paint and a fuel pump. Both gorgeous cars, but the 280SE has air conditioning.

That old York air conditioning can be hard to find parts for, and you can’t really get R12 any more. Nice when it works though! The 4.5 is nice, but for ease of maintenance, I’d have the 250.

It’s not something you would expect, but at the same time from what I understand the 250S was essentially the stripper S-Class model, so having a 4 on the floor is pretty neat.
