Had to laugh. My mechanic couldn’t align my car a few days ago because he couldn’t move a 4wd Jag off of his rack. #jagthings.

A bit pricey, but it’s nearly the definition of a garage queen, and as long as it’s been driven often enough to keep the arthritis from its joints it should be excellent. ‘75 makes for a proper roundgauge interior and non-bastardized rear suspension (not to mention the buttress tail), and although the Webers aren’t as clean as the injection, they should be easier to get sorted if something goes wrong.

It says something about the complexity of a design if 6 Webers are easier to troubleshoot...

Great though these early cars are, I don’t like the idea of the 4-speed Moss-box (same as in the S3 E-Type if memory serves me right). Apparently it was always a bit of a bear to use, and I’d much rather try and hook up a Supra ‘box or somesuch...

6.

Webers.

There’s half a dozen things that could go wrong ;)

Personally, I’d whip the Webers off, sell them for £250 a pop and use the resultant £1500 to install ITBs and standalone injection :)

Quite reasonable- take the Moss box and set it on a shelf, use a box that works (like a T56!), and the rest of the work’s been done for you. Even probably use the same driveshaft. Apparently the late 6.0s have a GM bellhousing pattern, but given what it would take to get one and get it sorted, you might as well buy a custom bellhousing that fits the old pattern - they exist.

Aha! Sell Moss ‘box to E-Type enthusiasts for exorbitant price . Use money to buy a T56 :)
