For firm believers in “two-wheels bad”, I was surprised to find it easy to convince my parents on my next vehicle.
A little 50cc scooter. Why a 50cc scooter?
-cheap to buy.
-cheap to fuel.
-cheap to insure.
-nice weather in interior BC means I can use it almost year-round.
In fact, the main operating expense will be buying new gear as I grow. I am turning in my man card, and going on a journey of scooters. As Patrick puts it

Nah, I think you have to be more of a man than anyone to be seen out on one of those. Also, balls of steel if you go on any major roadways because you have zero defenses - you’ll be hard pressed to keep up with traffic and don’t have enough power to get out of your own way.
Seriously though, they are fun. We have a little pit bike at my parents house and I absolutely love riding the crap out of it whenever I’m there. It’s so much fun! Just be safe and always wear a helmet.

I’ve thought of picking up my own scooter atsome point if I ever live in the suburbs, prob a 150cc though for a little more pep! I don’t have my motorcycle license yet, but a scooter would be a fun and really economical way to go on those short jaunts to the grocery store for milk, etc.

Scooters and pit bikes teach you a lot about proper bike control for when you want to move up to a motorcycle. You can focus on balance and being aware of traffic.
