Allegedly now idling in the paddock means you are an asshole. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! For some reason, it’s been declared that in order to not be an asshole, you are to shut off a car with hot oil and coolant (and likely brakes and brake fluid), rather than getting some more air over the fluid heat exchangers, and bring the car closer to normal operating temperature before turning it off. Image related, but isn’t my S4 (This one has too many pixels showing in the screen).

Fuck the FP :) Love the fact that I could tell it was an Audi just from that small picture though.

To be honest though, you couldn’t tell if that temperature was normal or due to bombing around your local circuit at full throttle.

no red line by the H, either! I guess that’s normal for Audi haha

Mine only gets that high after hot lapping sessions. Also it sees oil temperatures around 265F.
On a 2.7 twin turbo V6...

According to the FP, everybody is an asshole for everything.

Messed up screen and it overheated? Well that narrows it down to either an Audi or BMW without seeing the picture. No mention of white smoke spewing everywhere? Narrows it down to an Audi.
Overheating seriously sucks though, my old 540i used to overheat constantly. I probably spent more time on the side of the road than actually driving the car. These days, whenever I (very frequently) see an E39 on the side of the road, I shed a tear.

Allroad? Or A6?

S4. It’s a track car now, so it may be a wee bit outside the envisioned duty cycle.

The list was obviously put together by somebody that never spent time in a paddock, based solely on the fact that my suggestion of having a noisy generator wasn’t #1.
Want to idle your car? Ok, fine. Not let people pass? Sure, if it’s not racing, you can roll through hot pit to get some open track while the dentist in the Porsche rolls around at 5/10ths.
Running a cheap ass generator all day? The sound of GNRRRRGNRRRGNRRRRGNRRRGNRRRGNRRR blares on and on and on and on and on and on, and drives everybody in the vicinity insane. This is all because you were too damn cheap to spend the extra $500 or so on a Honda or Yamaha inverter generator that sits there and hums quietly and doesn’t bother anybody.

Shit like this is one of the many reason I don’t read Gawker-Cars anymore.
I am NOT shutting my skyline off in this case.
