I'm too old to jerry-rig. While I'm not ready to replace the heads yet, I do have to drain the radiator in order to replace the water pump and heater hoses as part of a serpentine belt upgrade I'm doing. Might as well pull the manifold too.

I forget the name of the product but I have some of this solder/braze/weld stick that’s super durable and can be used to fix (or rebuild) breaks like yours. It’s worked for me in past.

Ah... Found what I was looking for.
HTS-2000 for aluminum/non-ferrous alloys: http://www.aluminumrepair.com/aluminum-repai…
HTS-528 for steel: http://www.aluminumrepair.com/ironsteel-repa…
I’ve used HTS-2000. It’s quite something. Here’s a vid:

I hear you. That’s much more than a crack... and to do it right you really should take the intake off, fill the entire thing, drill and tap from solid, etc. And at that point you have the manifold off anyway, so... yeah. But still, missed opportunity to be really cheap!

This whole project has been fixing the P.O.’s opportunities to be really cheap.

If it were something rare or hard to find I would consider it. I’m running an old Edelbrock Performer, which are a dime a dozen online.
