my girlfriend had one of these. it was a great looking car, but by the time i started having to help her with repair after repair (16 yo car with 125k miles), i figured i’d rather put the money into a rwd car. rip probe.

I am the tragically extinct 3-door fastback 2+2 sport coupe.
I owned one of those for many years. Aside from the down-sides of FWD with wide sport tires (low traction in the winter and under-steering, snow tires help, but don’t solve the inherent imbalance.)
... it was a great, cool, slick, and amazingly practical sport coupe.
It is BADLY unfortunate that the only options now are the pathetic Scion tC, and the unfortunately ugly 370Z... and everything else has a ridiculously limited trunk lid, instead of a once-popular fastback hatch.
If I could have melded my 93 Probe GT and my 92 SVX into one car, with the best aspects of both... you’d have to pry the steering wheel and shifter from my cold dead hands.

My father had one. It was to be my first car but then it started have AT issues so he sold it. I loved that car. The pop up headlights and the fact it could do the entire 140MPH on the dash. It was the first car I actually drove as well.
