I’ve been in Europe since July 3rd, and am really starting to miss my car now. I’ve only driven twice in the past 12 days, and I kinda want to go for a drive but can’t.

Hopefully the next 16 days go by fast! I needs my precious!

Also, thanks to my Serbian family, I now have the (fun)ds to do the next few modifications I want on the car!

Lowering springs, a short shifter, and maybe even some rims all coming soon!

I want a 2002, but I can't get one... no space, no money for insurance on another car, and no skill to restore to what I want it to be (that, but with less stantznayshun yo)

In a few years you can definitely make it work. You can get some good runners for $4-5k. Im 20 and my insurance is $300 for the year with Hagerty. Skill? Trust me, you’ll learn. I did. The 02 community is fantastic. I know about 10 other owners and they help me out with anything I need. Hell, one of them just gave me an upgraded alternator for free last weekend. Another taught me how to adjust valves, replace a carb, and tune it. Learned how to do suspension work by reading an article and trial & error. It will all eventually come natural. And if not and 02, get something you can learn stuff on. A 2002 is recommended just because it’s so easy to understand and work on.

again. space. I have nowhere to put it. my house has a 2 car garage in which only one car can fit, and we already own 5 cars.... I really cannot justify another car, even if I want one; and trust me, I want a 2002 so bad! maybe in a year or two, when i'm done with high school, but not yet

Keep at it. It’s definitely obtainable. Just find the 2002 group on FB or go to bmw2002faq.com before you make any decisions.

Oh no, you're complaint is totally valid and I appreciate hearing that someone else knows the same pain haha. In good news, I'm in Bali right now for vacation, and I'm definitely renting a scooter. Nothing can keep me away from motorized transportation!!
