I was out of town for most of this weekend, but I still managed to get a little bit of work done on her on Sunday. She now has a driver seat bolted in once again, and the notch that needed to be made on one of the front driver side lower control arm mounts so the zerk fitting will clear and give the suspension free range of motion has been made. I had planned to take her off the stands and out for a short test drive after that, but it turns out the rear brakes need to be adjusted first. To get her ready for coming off the stands, I put her in gear, and then pulled on the hand brake.....which went all the way up with 0 resistance, and had no appreciable effect on arresting the motion of the rear wheels since I could turn them easily by hand. Not a huge deal, but by that point I was flirting with heat stroke (hooray 95*F heat), so I figured it was time to call it a day. I’ll get the brakes adjusted this week and take her out for a spin either this week or weekend. Also on the docket for this weekend: Install the soft top, rear shelf panels, and interior trim. There is light at the end of this tunnel that started last....April I think (holy crap has it really been that long since I drove her?), some time in the next few weeks she’ll be heading off to the mech, and I couldn’t be more excited!
