I had an ‘01 coupe just like that, (except green.) Just about the least good Honda I’ve had, (first year of the new front strut suspension, new motor, etc - all had some teething pains..) And the kicker is that it wasn’t very enjoyable to drive - it was a bit floaty, only average steering feel, weak brakes, kinda mushy clutch...

The only other gold civic I ever saw was when I was living in Newport Beach. Two bros* from MA just moved in to the unit below me and one of them owned it. IIRC, it also had leather seats (brown, I think, but that was a lot of beers ago) which - until that point - I did not know was an option on the Civic.

Regardless, it’s important to accessorize...

*Their bro-ness is not germane to this conversation, TBH. I only recalled that detail as they were very gelled-hair, suns out/guns out and used so much Axe that it wafted up into my apartment. They also cranked dance music at 2am after coming back from the bars.
