That’s an almighty amount of money for a thirty year old Land Rover.

The US market ones (early 90’s) go for 30k+ so it’s not surprising.

why do i feel like ive seen these 110s going for north of 50k? either way, seems like 15k is reasonable considering what else one can get for that money.

Good Lord. I’ve just checked and I can buy a 2014 one for €26,000 which is about the same as $30,000. A 1996 one is €6,000. I suppose it’s lack of supply over there.

$50,000 is more than they cost new here (if you can get one of the last ones)!

Yeah. They only imported the Defender for a couple of years, and most of those were 90’s.

Chassis doesn’t look great, there’s been a few patches and some of it looks thin, albeit the rear crossmember looks in much better shape than mine! I’m not sure how easy it is to get repair parts for Defenders over there, but the rear passenger doors are on their way which mean the rear safari door (if original) most certainly is too, especially if it’s had that wheel on it for an extended period of time. Can’t really see condition of the bulkhead, but if the footwells have been done, you should hope the bulkhead was looked after too. That said, there is a worrisome hole here:

I have no understanding of the US pricing of these (I know they’re rare, so supply and demand), but I couldn’t consider spending £9,600 on a Defender of this age in this condition, even if they were few and far between.

My interest is piqued as well, but if I'm dropping that much dough on a Land Rover, it's for one from CarMax with a Doug DeMuro-approved warranty.
