The chrome, the headlights, the paint, the interior, the want is so strong.

It’s still a Bentley

My want.

That’s hardly a bad thing. And I don't agree with you. Somewhere here in the Oppo abyss I have a post arguing my point.

They are making something close right?
![]() 07/10/2015 at 22:23 |

Not sure. Since it’s a concept car, and because it’s well received, my assumption would beeeee no.
![]() 07/10/2015 at 22:23 |

I still don’t see any Bentley in it.

meh.
![]() 07/10/2015 at 22:24 |

nothing wrong with that. the lexus ls is an s class. and for likely 50% of the sticker i think i might go for this.

The LS is not an S-Class

I like this car, but it has the same problem Jaguar has, it all looks well and good, but the grille kills it. I want luxury car makers to make their grilles smaller, not bigger, BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER GODDAMMIT!!!!
![]() 07/10/2015 at 22:31 |

clearly, but it is (or was) as much an s class as that continental will be a bentley.
analogies my friend, analogies.

I like the light up emblem and the idea of little Lincoln logos in the grill but I do agree that is one spot that could use a little work

I’m talking about the Exterior
![]() 07/10/2015 at 22:34 |

Still don’t see it. The Roof MAYBE, but that’s hardly a unique shape.
To me, the only distinctive things Bentley has are the headlights, and the grille. The lincoln has some crazy LED headlights, and the grille makes me think of an XJ more than a Bentley.

The hoods, the belt lines, the proportions, the trunks, etc...

Not saying I agree or don’t, but bentley may agree.
Was Donckerwolke “quitted”?

You have great taste. My biggest nitpick (of which there are very few and quite tiny) is the wheel design.

Hooray for the Taurus platform! Without it, Lincoln woulda died with the Town Car.

Your bias is showing.

I am sure those won’t make production

That's one of the greatest sayings I have ever heard.
![]() 07/11/2015 at 08:26 |

What’s the problem sharing platforms? Cadillac is guilty of the same sin. An Escalade is at the end of the day nothing more than a fancy Tahoe. As long as Lincoln breathes some indivudality into the product they are fine.
![]() 07/11/2015 at 08:56 |
|
My bias? My bias?! Oh no! Not my bias! Anything but that!
Why does everyone point that out whenever I’m biased towards Cadillac? Have I EVER claimed I wasn’t? Pretty sure I've made it clear since day one that I'm not a car guy, I'm a Cadillac guy, therefore, yeah, I'm pretty biased.
![]() 07/11/2015 at 09:00 |

-Escalade
-XTS
Those are the only two Cadillacs that currently share a platform with other GM vehicles. However, a good majority of Lincoln is Taurus based, is it not?
![]() 07/11/2015 at 09:15 |
|
Two vehicles yes are Taurus based. But the Continental will be a step towards individualilty unlike the Lincolns before it.
![]() 07/11/2015 at 09:17 |
|
And you the Cadillac enthusiast are forgetting the SRX is a plate forming sharing Cadillac
![]() 07/11/2015 at 09:23 |
|
Not since Saab went out of business. That was the only other vehicle on the Theta-Epsilon platform (unique of the Theta platform, which most people mistake it for).
![]() 07/11/2015 at 09:28 |

Lincoln’s “planned” flagship (any production specs yet? No? Didn’t think so.) is Taurus based. Cadillac’s new flagship, confirmed to come out at the end of this year, is on a brand new, totally unique platform with a unique engine unseen in any other cars currently offered.
I’ll admit that the continental looks better in person than in pictures, but then when you compare it to the CT6, whose thunder ford tried stealing like they did with the NSX, it falls flat on its face.
![]() 07/11/2015 at 10:31 |
|
I thought the CT6 was a stretched CTS plateform?
And I can't argue with you there. I have yet to see either in person
![]() 07/11/2015 at 10:41 |
|
The CTS is on the Alpha platform, along with the ATS, which, although shared, is shared among Cadillacs only right now. The CT6 is on the all new unique Omega Platform.
![]() 07/11/2015 at 12:26 |

Isn't the new Camaro on the Alpha?
![]() 07/11/2015 at 19:43 |

Yeah, AFTER it was used exclusively by Cadillac for 5 years.
