Ah yeah! Said I wouldnt get a house until I was in the 800s. My apartment lease is up at the end of October so maybe this will happen (I hate shared-wall neighbors, want a garage, and to play marimba as loud as I want).

Congrats! We’re doing a re-finance on our house and I noticed my score went way up. Thanks wife for taking care of the bills!

I feel like I've just stepped into a black hole. There's another marimba player here?!?

Well statistically there must be a few people with proper taste and refinement like us.

Always, unless they have one digit (0).

This is less than 800...
I can’t figure out how to get above the high-700s with mine, but I still think they give you decent rates on mortgage loans in this range... I got a completely insane 0%, 0 down, 5-year car loan with my score, so I can't see why they'd worry about a mortgage.

Just a personal goal. No specific reason other than motivation.

I know is is kind of an old post (2 days is a long time on Oppo) but - Is there somewhere to check this that’s actually a free thing? I have no idea what my credit score is, and it may help to know it down the road.

That particular one comes free with the Barclayscard Service. I have been Creditkarma for years though. You can also have a free one sent to you every year. You’ll have to Google that one though. I’m sure there are some hard core credit score or general finance ethusiasts on here somewhere.
