Help Identify This Vandal

Hey Oppo. We had a vandal in our neighborhood recently who cut down some signs. I know, serious business! Someone caught them on video but we can’t identify the car. Here are the pictures:

The consensus seems to be that it’s a last generation Ford Escape but it seems more like a wagon to me. Additionally the wheel wells seem to flare way too much for the Escape. Thoughts?

Defiantly an Escape, as a classmate of mine used to have a near identical one. Pretty sure that roof rack makes it a specific year, probably around 2003 or 2004. Give me a few mins to research.

I thought the same for a moment. Not sure that it isn't but would likely be a Freestyle versus the X.

It’s defiantly an Escape XLT No Boundaries Edition, which was made from 2003-2006.

Here’s and 03-04

However, I’m leaning towards an 05-06, as I think I can see a little silver under the bumper in your pictures.

That’s awesome... Someone posted a picture of an Escape NB Edition that they thought might have been the car and we’re in the Hollywood Hills so the chances of their being two Escapes up here is slim. The chances of two obscure special edition Escapes seems like an impossibility. Looks like we found our guy.
