Have a Corvette with the best paint job ever.

This exhaust has always looked awkward to me.
I prefer Mako II
That paint job is on fleek

The lines on the Mako II are cleaner but I think the exhaust looks like shark gills.

Love the Mako. Also love the story behind the Mako’s paint job.
As I recall, Bill Mitchell had a shark he’d caught taxidermied and hanging in his office. It was the exact look he wanted for the car and he repeatedly told the paint guys to try again after they presented a finished product. Eventually one of the paint guys broke into Mitchell’s office and repainted the shark to match the car. Seeing that the car “finally” matched the shark, Mitchell was pleased.
It’s too bad it was never offered as a factory option.

there is a funny story with that paint job, Bill Mitchell, the designer of the mako shark had a stingray mounted on his office wall that he had caught and told the painter to paint the car exactly like the fish. they spent weeks trying to match that darn fish. the painter eventually broke into Mitchell's office one night and painted the fish to match the car. Mitchell was none the wiser as the story goes and when he saw the matched was finally happy.

I wish they would have given the color out as a factory option. And I have heard that story it is one of my personal favorites.

I have heard that story before it is one of my favorites. You think is Mitchell liked the color so much they would have offered it from the factory.

Too time consuming for a production line car. Also expensive since metal flake and pearl paint was still relatively new.
