I found this Beetle parked near the back of a Frys Electronics parking lot. I thought it was actually quite well done... for a Beetle.
Tastefully lowered, deep black paint, sporty wheels, and just the right amount of tint has made me change my perception on the newest iteration of the VW Beetle. How about you?

It does look pretty good. I wish that when they rolled out the new Beetle 2.0, they would have gone this route or went even more "retro". How about *gasp* a split-window offering?

I’m just going to assume this type of styling wasn’t the most cost effective look for their target markets. It would be sweet, though, to see something like this in dealer lots.
I just looked up an old split window Beetle that you are referring to. Rear visibility must be horrible, ha!

Yeah, split-windows wouldn't be allowed today. They did look cool though.

These beetles are a blast to drive. Had a few on the lot at work with the 2.5.

Do any models happen to have manual transmissions? I forgot to look inside of the car.

They have the option. they are the same as a Jetta/Golf underneath.

could likely have GTI suspension swapped in, seems like a common swap for the platform.

I’d drive it. Really dig the new new beetles. There’s a nice yellow and black GSR edition i eye on my commute at least twice a week.

Because of visibility? But Camaros are allowed? Hmm.

really? I gotta check that out. I didn’t know that the Camaro had the split window.

Oh, sorry, I was just making a rear visibility joke. Don’t know about any split windows on modern cars.
