Has anyone bought a Cen-tech scanner from Harbor Freight? Are they any good?

Harbor Freight is good for tools you only need once, because they will fail in spectacular fashion the second time you use them.

I bought one, and it read many of the sensors on my Mini Cooper. Can’t vouch for it’s performance diagnosing codes, since it turned out I didn’t have any. It at least feels somewhat nicer than many of HFs other tools.

I know, that’s why I figured I’d better ask before buying something electronic from them.

Knowing Harbor Freight, it’ll probably wipe your ECU if you attempt to clear a code.

i love how the stores smell tho

I bought this one:

many years before there was a Harbor Freight in my area, and it has more than paid for itself in use plus favors from letting friends borrow it. Having bought several piles of shit from HF that happened to be shaped like the tool I needed, I’d say shell out a few bucks for a good one. There are places to be cheap, and places to not be cheap, and this is a place to not be cheap.
