I'd hate it if it were dead. The previous season was actually pretty great.

I enjoyed Rut’s Lost in Transmission, hopefully they will be back with TGU very soon, can only think it’s not been back sooner due to other commitments such as Tanner’s WRX with the newest beetle and trying to develop it

Nothing else to copy since the real TG got pulled :p

Now they just have to do the finale where one of the US guys punches a producer in the face.

Judging from the air date of previous seasons, it will probably be back this Fall. :)

I watched it once, declared that the hosts were annoying and never watched it again.

Rutledge was recently on Adam Carolla’s podcast, and said it they haven’t started filming yet because of his Nascar Schedule, and Tanners race schedule. He made it sound like there will be another season.

I liked it, except for Adam Ferrara. Although his launching of a V6 Mustang off the cliff is probably my favorite thing from the show.

I assumed it was dead when Rutt started doing that other car show.

Adam exists to placate the Jersey guys, they are a dynamic trio

As a former NYer I truly understand it - like when Jersey Shore was on, people would watch, but those are the people I wanted to get away from when I left NY :)

I actually saw a comedy special of his a few months ago, and he was actually funny. Esp when compared to his TG:USA antics.

You should give it another chance. The more recent season was genuinely good car TV.

Have you seen the very first series of the Clarkson-helmed TG UK (*sobs uncontrollably*)? It wasn’t great.

The first season of TG USA was miles better than the first series of TG UK, 2002-2015.

1st season was good. Second ok. After that meh. I liked when they tested cars on that course they had setup, disappointed when they stopped.

That sequence where Foust chases that bike down in the Z06 was amazing.

Meh, I just didn’t like the hosts. That was the main issue. I do recall watching Clarkson pre TGUK and that was pretty damn not horrible.

You need to watch series one of TGUK from 2002. James May does not host until series 2. Even then TGUK as we know and love it didn’t hit their stride until series 3, arguably they still had a bit go and really got it right around series 5. Series 6 onward are all very good episodes.

Clarkson pre-TG was pretty good for the time period, and had a decent production budget and polish.

I have seen the first Clarkson-helmed season of Top Gear, from 1992 if I recall. Back when he actually had hair.

I’m talking about the first series from 2002. All his stuff from the 90’s is scary, apart from Motor World, which is just very dated.

So not the first season of TG with Clarkson as lead presenter, just the first series of the first reboot of TG.

My comparison between TGUK and TGUSA is referencing only the first series of TGUK from 2002.

Anything prior to that I have not watched, so I cannot comment on. And my comparison is abount the whole show, not just Clarkson. TGUK, 2002-2015, worked because all three hosts, not just Clarkson.

The hosts just have no chemistry. The whole thing felt forced to me.

I liked that they moved away from the track and made their own show. I didn’t want to see a secondhand version of the same show. Once they left the old formula I loved it. I also love that Tanner is always gunning to beat the Stig and is giving him a run for the money.

Ive never really watched the old show. Cant stand Clarkson, the other two are cool though.

I liked watching them talk about the cars, and seeing how they stack up against each other.

Didnt care abou the small car celebrity thing.

I always figured Tanner was the Stig in the TGUS episodes. I hardly saw them 2 together in the same shots and then when they were, there was a space between them to splice it together to make it look like 4 was standing there.

Plus why hire a 2nd race driver to test cars when one of your hosts is a WRX driver. Just my .02

Some of their later episodes were good, the early stuff was horrible.

Forgot which episode it was but there was an episode when he and Stig were on the track together battling it out and he won. It was a close and hard fought victory so I’m not sure it’s him unless he owns a cloning machine.
