Because for $4900 you can roll like me. Except you can’t, because my car’s been in the shop for the last week.

A8 is only FWD on the base V6. And neither of those are available in the US. Here it’s AWD and V8/W12 only.

I’m actually surprised FWD hasn’t made it back here yet, in light of CAFE. We used to get it, though. And even still, it’s FWD-based AWD.

FWD based only in the perspective that it is a longitudinal engine driving a transaxle for the front and center diffs.
