I might have accidentaly become the owner of 2 2005 honda Shadow 750s....
The story: Local shop (with whom i am very good buddies with) has like 4 bikes just sitting around. and 80;s VFR, a vulcan, and the 2 shadows.
They have alll been sitting for YEARS in the out doors. So he asked me to get them running, and that their might be a bike in it for me.
Hmm...while I’m not much of a cruiser guy....Shadows are okay bikes, and pretty easy to flip.
welp, now my questions are: HOW DO I GET 7 YEAR OLD GAS OUT OF CARBS?!?!?!?!

Take it apart and carb cleaner? How gross is it?

well, they sat outside for 7 years and have no fuel stabilizer. I’m willing to bet its going to be REALLY bad.

ugh. I’m going to try to not...I HATE carbs. Maybe let it saok in something for a few days and whack the old fuel out.
at least the bikes turned over.

It may be the only solution! But good luck either way though.

Dude, just rebuild the carbs, it’s not difficult, super easy, do it. You’ll feel accomplished, and I’d argue that it’s actually kind of fun to do.

If they look varnished, you will have to clean em. Otherwise Seafoam and burn that shit out. I used to ride one of those. They are pretty good for a 750 cruiser.

I’ll take the VFR if it is saveable!
