About as perfect as these cars get. I would like a 280Z with the small bumpers from this car just because I want the l28 and the 5 speed but this services my Z love just as well

Well that pic you have is not just a bumper removed, they added a piece of fiberglass to the rear, pretty much ruined it. The fenders flares aren’t so bad but I like original cars.

Nah, the 280s are 300-400lbs heavier than the 240, the engine may be a bit bigger but its not a great engine, little issues with it as well as all that mass up there, much heavier. Much much better to have a light 240, light engine with a swapped 5 speed and triple carbs, add a nice cam etc. Thats what I have, I have compared them and its no contest.

A bit of massaging isn’t bad, but yeah in this case it may be a bit too much... The large fenders are a bit too much on the above one.

i always heard they were heavier simply because of the bumpers and things on it which iw ould remove and more chassis stiffness.

Regardless I wouldn’t have this car to drive it in ways I would really notice.

The sheet metal got thicker too, it’s not just the bumpers, the engine in the later cars are very heavy, you’d notice if you tried them both. The high revs on the 240 is lots of fun.

Yeah thats ok, I keep my bumpers, I plan to get Japanese market bumpers that were one piece and no vertical bumper bars. I haven’t decided if I will get the rear lip wing, the car has a sexy slope to it without it and I can’t deny they look good with it.
