Hi everyone
I bought a CPO 2011 135i with 44,000km on it about a month ago. I put about 4,000km on it and now the cel came on and car is in limp mode. No power at all. Had a friend scan it and it came up with code p0001 which is fuel control module circuit open/closed. Something like that. Also the coolant light was coming on. Called dealer and they recommend towing it.
So this has been my first month experience along with having full oil and then all of a sudden it’s empty requiring 2 quarts. Happened twice around 3 weeks apart.
Any ideas on the code? Did research but couldn’t find anything.
UPDATE:
P0001 code for fueling issue. Dealer calls and says a mouse got in and chewed the wiring. I bought the car 1 month ago with 44,000km it’s a 2011. They are claiming it happened at my house, not fucking possible. We have 3 other cars (2011-2013 audi’s) that are on driveway/garage and nothing has happened for past 15 years of living here. Now i have this new car for 30 days and mice are attracted to it? Also a $500 diagnose fee because this isn’t covered under warranty, even though I have Cpo on the vehicle. My hunch is, since LOW KM on the car, the previous owner had it sit for a while and the damage was done. The dealer had it for 1 day between original lessee and myself who bought it afterwards. Damage was done, and after a couple weeks of driving the wiring became loose at this point in time, now leaving me with the bill. I am not going to be paying for anything and I will raise hell. If this happened at my house, I understand. But it did not. There are many cats on the street as well who would have taken care of this critter. Not happy right now.

Yes. Service advisor called and said it would be $500 diagnose and $320 for wire repair, totaling $900-1000. Which honestly isn’t that bad, but I shouldn’t have to pay for this. I raised hell, while being calm and just making the points that I had (car is less than 30 day from you guys, none of my other cars have had wiring issue, essentially saying it was from the previous owner but you guys did not do a thorough enough CPO on the car, since they knew it was sold to me). Sales guy said to call back in the morning when the manager is in, and will see what we can do. He means well, so I hope he will try his best for me. I shouldn’t have to pay for this, unless it happened at my house which I understand, but I know it didn’t.
He was saying there no mice, but you could see the biting marks and there was dry tissues in there so he knew it was recent. Well, I park in the garage, and it is under the air box so no water gets there regardless..

This is the furthest dealer from my house, the dealership I purchased the car from. I thought I would have the most luck here. I doubt any other dealer would cover this, and would tell me to go back where I got it from.

1. There’s no possible way for you to know where and when this happened for certain, though I suspect you are correct.
2. That’s really a moot point. The dealer should cover this for you because you’ve only had the car for a short period of time. They also can’t prove that it was a mouse, or where that happened. Chafing wires can very easily look like chewed wires.
3. If they still won’t cover it for you, talk to another dealer about the whole situation. They would probably love to steal a customer from their competition and will likely go overboard trying to do so.
4. If that doesn’t help, contact BMW.
5. If they still won’t do anything, get a consultation from a lawyer to see if it would be worth it to pursue.
6. Still having trouble? Light them up via social media and then buy a Mercedes. Lol, sorry for the shameless plug, I couldn’t resist.

sad to hear bud. I’m week 1 into my new used 135i, and once saw a mouse in my garage. My wallet is not ready

Funny part is many things weren’t fixed when I picked up the car so I had to go back. rear bumper wasn’t painted, door trim wasn’t replaced, hand brake didn’t work. They fixed 1/3 items when I took it back, but then they scratched my hood..
Going to speak to the manager today to get this resolved. Bill is $500 for diagnosing and $300 for repair of 3 wires including labor, seems cheap for what happened. Something seems off..

Doesn’t sound like a wonderful place to me.
Diagnostic prices for something like this can vary wildly from one shop our technician to the next, so it’s really difficult to know if the price is appropriate without knowing the technicians story about what he did.
Hopefully they get everything resolved, at no cost to you.

Thank you, I hope so too. Its a reputable BMW dealer.. I didn't think this would happen here. Paid a little more for the car, but has CPO and low KM so thought I was safe. Guess again! Maybe ill get a C63 and manual swap it :)
