Also, regarding the patent - yeah, I’m not sure how they’re claiming patent on that, unless its for the triple-cam cylinder head only.

Nope, it has no V angle because it isn’t a V. The V is made on the same crankpin by the two conrods. A boxer has just one rod per crankpin, hence there is no V.

So, would a flat engine be 180° then, since the opposed cylinders share a crank pin?

If the opposed cilinder share a crankpin, it’s indeed a flat engine and not a boxer. Ferrari’s flat 12’s were 180 degree V’s for example.
