I spent the morning drumming my fingers as installers worked to put a brand-spankin’-new soft top into the old girl. Vinyl, glass, no zipper, no defroster Robbins top for you Miataphiles. Photo of the old one after the jump.

‘bout damn time. happy 22 NA, happy 20 D.

Wow i was literally doing the same earlier today. But having to deal with the rivets stopped me. My 94’ still had the original top as well. Should have it finished up tomorrow

Man, replacing the top on my MR2 completely transformed the car.

I have that exact same top waiting for when the paint is all done.

Was it a pain in the butt? What guide you use?

http://www.miata.net/garage/MiataTo… This is the guide I used. Its a little different for me because I have a plastic window. It really hasn’t been difficult thus far. Like I said I’m caught up on the rivets you have to drill followed by putting new ones. But that’s really just me not being fully prepared.

It’ll certainly transform my car too. The way the old top was, I could barely use it. I could only take my hardtop off for a weekend at a time. Now I can leave it off for much longer stints.
