Chevy, You are getting closer to making a really good looking station wagon again. SO close.
5 minute photoshop
Source here
Unitize the body and raise the door sills (since there is no frame to cover), add subframes for the engine and full independent suspension and boom. 7-9 passenger station wagon. Also solving the hearse issue.
Also, ITs strange but I didn’t alter the greenhouse at all, even though it looks squished.

For some reason, I have a ton of want for a modern Roadmaster on a truch chassis.

2wd suburban I guess.

Keep trying.

Maybe they should just raise it a little, call it the Suburb Cruiser and charge an extra $20,000 for it? That seems more likely.

That’s a crazy long wheelbase for a wagon. Although most wagons don’t invite 7-9 people.

That trim is called “Denali”

Curved wheel wells. You forgot to mention that change. It’s a good change. If it’s going to be unitbody, it should have curved wheels wells. Also, headlights that are half as tall would be good. Those lower lights are probably too low.

oh yeah, the curved wheel wells, I had to bring in the fender gap a little so it didn’t just look like a slammed burb.

I’ve always thought that the refreshed Durango would look pretty good as a wagon.

yeah, tone down the hardware and trim it up a little...I could see that.

Looks like a limo hearse.
For when the dead want to go out in style

If you think about it 2 door Blazers are modern Nomads.

yup. You can’t fool oppo, car world...we know what a wagon and shooting brake are, even if you’ve tried to disguise them.

C pillar needs to be more raked, and the rims are a little small.
![]() 07/01/2015 at 17:02 |

true, I like the upright pilars, but I didn’t bother properly sizing the wheels.

And I doubt it would still fit 7 ppl due to the suspension assembly being a higher.
Also, if this does happen it'd need an LT4 engine trim

Ah, thats the trick, with a frame out of the way you have room for a more compact suspension even with the raised sills.

Coilovers can work wonders.

Everytime I see it I almost feel it needs the “chrome” strips around the rear windows as well.

It would need a longer hood though. A proper wagon is about 1/3 hood.

The Tahoe/Suburban look so awkward, mostly because of the Nissan-like headlights. Why they couldn’t use the front of the Silverado I have no idea. The GMC looks like a surprised pig, and the Cadillac stole Volvo's rear end. Better than the rounded ones from the early '00s.

The Suburban/Tahoe is really growing on me. Esp. like this:
