Where else can you get a RWD convertible with 250 HP in that condition for $20k?

Similar year SLK350 for probably a little under 20k but without the manual.

S2000 is pretty close and you are looking closer to 13k. But it will be older and probably not as clean.

Miata is always the answer. But to get the same power you are adding in a lot of work. Probably can be done for cheaper than 20k.

The MR2 is in the same boat as the Miata.

Still - Crack Pipe. It isn’t worth it to me.

I considered going the Mustang/Camaro route but did not because they are not roadsters, they are 4 seater convertibles.

I sold my 2008 for $21K in 2010 and it had the coolest painted stripes. $22K is a big MAYBE if it was an orange Coupe with 10K miles and a stick.

The above car is a good buy at $15K. Find another at a better price and then get the race exhaust from SOLO and retune the ECU for 320 HP ($450).
