So, the mufflers on my car are between the front wheel and the back of the door. Everything back from there is just pipe.
Would it be possible to lop off the pipes beyond the mufflers, and buy some more pipes, but they would immediately turn 90° after the muffler and go out the side ?

Ya of course, but be prepared for scorched bodywork and melted plastic.

The neon SRT did that. Be mindful of the plastic paired with heat.

It can work but heat is an issue. As everyone is saying

I had 2 challengers. Straight pipe cherry bomb exhaust on both, that was loud enough, but if your crazy, I think they sell a kit on line somewhere

Heat shield?

Does that have a crossover in the middle? If so - you’d want to keep that or it will sound weird. But I agree - always thought side pipes look cool if you can get them to work and not melt anything. Those Borla upturned twin tips would look cool on the sides of that Dodge.

Heat shield is a valid plan.
