I have a 69 VW that I was thinking of getting digital gauges in. I have a tablet that I could use as the screen, but the problem is that many of the existing setups like this run off of the OBDII interface...which of course my car would not have. Are there any ways to convert analog signals easily into a digitally displayed interface?

I would caution you against using a commercial tablet; the glare will make your gauges unreadable in any kind of direct sun. Anti-glare films don’t really help, either.

I have the ability to recess the screen as much as necessary to avoid ever having direct sunlight it it - working off of a custom dash. Good to know though so I can plan accordingly!

Hmm. That could work. Hopefully you can figure out the analog -> digital issue. that seems like a challenging one.

I would worry about heat damaging the tablet also if you live somewhere it gets hot.
