$62k for QV version.
Probably not that for the versions most here would buy.

100hp less for more money?
![]() 06/24/2015 at 13:57 |

Expensive, but if that power rating is true, then that’s awesome.

60-80k, falls in the Ghibli’s price range...and I think it looks better than the Giulia.

The headlights are a bit strabismatic, I must say.

That’s because the used/depreciated/non-existant versions don’t exist yet

Manual only!? Fantastic! Must rally and support this platform!
![]() 06/24/2015 at 14:02 |

Yep, the plebeian version will probaly start in the $40k range.

lol true. Since it’s Alfa probably only have to wait 2 years for 2/3 it’s value to depreciate away.
I was thinking I would get a new one with whatever 300-400 hp range if it’s like $40k or less.
But still I would rather wait for a smaller car or a coupe. I have a feeling this is quite a large and heavy car.

I would probably be perfectly happy with the pleb version. Supposedly all are going to be turbo as well so there is good tuning potential. If they make a more sedate turbo v6 with like 350hp or so I would be happy so long as it’s not locked down like Ferraris are.

that would be bad. people will just get a 3 series.

If I read it correctly it’s only the Quad...Quadf...QV model that’s manual only.
There’s a diesel too, some people won’t be glad to hear.

We had another grear-looking sedan with a big engine and a manual transmission that was priced way too high... what was it called again?
Oh yeah, the Chevy SS, that no one bought.

That’s going to restrict how many of those they can sell in the U.S. Kind of strange considering their sky-high sales targets. Every little bit helps and restricting your top of the line model to manual only in the U.S. when the ATS - V, M3 and AMG C63 all have automatic options (or only auto in the case of the MB) isn’t going to help them any.
Actually, I wonder if they didn’t have a good performance auto option to even use? The 4C uses their dry-clutch DCT but that thing can’t handle the amount of power this engine puts out. Their only choices would be the ZF 8-speed that Maserati uses, or the DCT that Ferrari has in its cars, and the ZF may not have been good enough for what they wanted, and Ferrari may have thrown a shit fit at allowing a “lesser” brand to use their transmission.
That second paragraph is all just speculation and thinking-out-loud of course.

Nice that someone still offers this kind of car that has a manual only version.
![]() 06/24/2015 at 14:55 |

But they only offer the 4C with an automatic. These guys are a pc. of work.

Are you implying that the Giulia Nuova Diesel was not the greatest Alfa Romeo ever made?
![]() 06/24/2015 at 15:48 |

Manual only? Doubt it.

It has to start less than $40k or it will be more expensive than BMW/Merc/Audi/Lexus/Cadillac offerings in this class.

It will probably be VM Motori sourced diesel engine, which would probably be pretty good engine. That’s who makes the EcoDiesel for Jeep IIRC.

I didn’t know that. Sounds pretty silly.

If there’s no auto no one will buy it. I hope there’s an auto
