The Infinity G25.
A fourth-gen, post-facelift, G-series sedan. Available with AWD, but not available with a manual transmission. It is exactly the same car as the numerically-larger G35, albeit with a smaller engine. Curiously, this engine is a 2.5l V6, and is NOT the 2.5l inline-4 used in the Nissan Frontier, Altima, and elsewhere within the Nissan lineup.

Yeah, they should’ve offered the four. Likely the same power, and much better gas mileage.
That said, small V6’s are kinda cool though.

“This G35 is nice...but...can I have one just like this, but slightly less good?”

Actually, I neglected to post this, but the 4-cyl gets 153hp, whereas the v6 - same displacement, mind you - gets 218hp.

From what I understand, the incentive is that it’s a bit less expensive than the G35. I don’t really see how, considering the VQ25HR isn’t used as widely across Nissan’s stable as the VQ35. You’d think the less-popular engine would only be available in smaller numbers, making them cost MORE, than the much more popular - and more available - option. Seems like a weird step down, making this perfect platypus material.

I’m not 100% sure because when I bought my g there is no way in hell I was getting the 25, but I think they only made it the same time as the 37, not the 35. G37’s are so cheap that I have no idea why you would take 110 less hp.

Yup, confirmed. The 2.5L was an option on the 4th gen, alongside the 3.7l, not the 3.5 i mentioned before. Thanks for pointing that out!
Agreed, it boggles me why they felt the need to do this. If you wanted an entry-level trim, just make a cheaper G37. With as ubiquitous as they are, i can’t imagine the 3.7 is any more expensive than the 2.5.

That’s the major thing I don’t like about my car is that they are everywhere, it’s an admittedly small quarrel to have so I shouldn’t complain.
I’m not sure how much they were new but I think the 25 was about 4k less on the lot. I got my 2013 with 15k miles on it for under $25k. Considering you get 330 hp, (and up to 60mph in less than 5.5 secs) navi, and a whole bunch of other features for that, there was no way I was going with anything else.

Yup, a rare creature, apparently.
