Great stuff here. It’s a shame they’re changing the track so much for this year. That fantastic final turn is now just a meager “chicken” as Alonso would say. And on top of that, they straightened out the esses approaching that corner to make them “easier”. Oh well.

The majority of my early childhood F1 memories (and later, Indycar memories) involve watching racing with my dad, who would bounce in his seat with excitement until ol’ Nige stuffed it up, at which point he would fly off the handle. In some sense, they were similar people, I guess.
