Just spotted this on my YouTube feed and thought it was quite awesome. Rutledge is living quite the Jalop dream. His car collection is straight up Jalop-Bait.

Huh, I thought they were joking when they said he keeps the cars.

I was watching that episode of Lost In Transmission when they went to his garage and showed a couple of his cars like the 4X4 Camry and whatnot from TGUS. I wonder why he kept those and what he does with them...

I like him much, much more having watched this. I don’t even like most of the cars, i just like that he has fun and does his thing and builds what he wants to build.

Man, I love him, real car guy. Can really tell that he loves everything he builds.

The headlights on the Suburban are far and away the best application of the “Rutledge’s Head” meme yet.

I guess I found out who is living the life that I was looking for, and haven’t yet found. ;-) Perhaps because I am not very extroverted or comfortable on-camera as Rut is.
Those cars aren’t ones I would pick, but I have plenty of my own weird, diverse, non-traditional ideas about building custom cars... I could probably fill a a hanger that size with some other custom stuff.
Although that customized step-van is a very, very cool utility vehicle, and I have to agree with him about automotive styling. For the most part on modern showroom-stock cars, I would have to quote BB King... “The Thrill is Gone.”
