Addendum: EarthRoamer has used listings on their website. You can pick up a CPO XV-LTS with a warranty and a dirty shower floor for only $415,000... http://earthroamer.com/consignment/xv…
On second thought, I think I’ll keep my money, thanks...

Earth roamers are neat but they sure are pricey, as in WAY too pricey.

Like most $500k vehicles, these things are awesome.
Also, they are over the line of practicality and attainability. A pickup with a truck camper could be had for much, much less $, and be close enough for most. Not the same, but good enough, given the cost difference.

They have an Excel sheets where you can build your own and see the pricing:
http://earthroamer.com/xv-lt/pricing/
So, if I check every option and select the most expensive one when I could, I came up with 577156$ price tag. So more than twice the value of my house....

I keep forgetting to by a lotto ticket. Cuz if I win, I’m getting one of these and heading to Ushuaia and back!
They are coming out with one on an F650 Frame I believe it is.

I worked for them for a while and besides building a couple I got to drive them around a bit. There is something about driving one cross country that just feels like the closest thing to piloting a good sized yacht.
Hitting the air suspension “down” button when you pull up to a burger joint... priceless. Haha.
One of these towing a small jeep or fj40 with a dirt bike would be a swell retirement plan.
(Just don’t get one of the XV-JP’s, just trust me on that one)

I imagine you could tow a small race trailer with a race car or a couple of dirt bikes pretty easily with this. Talk about overkill!

Superbly practical and completely unattainable. But as you said, 99.99% of the practicality can be had with a regular truck and camper and it would be a billion times more attainable for most.

Your house is obviously not worth enough... HA!
I’m trying the spreadsheet out to see what I can get for the “lowest” price.

Apparently the base price for the F550 XV-LTS with crew cab is $314,490. I got up to $370,000 for reasonable options and got tired of the exercise...

You’d think most owners would be just immensely rich folks, but at some of the rallies I went to for Earthroamer I was surprised. My favorite couple was a guy who had been ski patrol all winter and search/rescue all summer his entire life. They sold their home, bought an Earthroamer and towed their Jeep Rubicon.
Not a bad retirement plan.

The good part is that there are a LOT of used ones. After building over 100 they have it down. I would go for any truck numbered over 30. Might as well buy used and save a ton!

They can do more offroading than you’d think. (Yes, a smaller truck/camper can do way more)
If I remember right this was Cinnamon pass outside Leadville.

I’ve seen that up for over a year, I don’t think any orders have materialized yet.

I have no doubt they’re immensely capable. They look the part, so they’d better be able to play it, too!

For what they are, they’re capable. The interior is what gets me. It’s like a nice yacht and you just want to live there! FOREVER. hahaha!

I haven’t either, it’s almost too big.

There’re two orders in right now. Production apparently starts in March. Also they will now be based on the 750 chassis.

Tim! sorry to bust in on this late thread, but I recently started working there and wanted to pick your brain on it a bit. Any thoughts/experiences you’d like to share on your time working there? I’m still trying to get a feel for the place and it’s hard to pin down.

Cant wait to see those, share what you ou can

Not a problem. We are set to expand our shop about the same time, so I’m guessing that’s why it will start production then. Not sure if it will be in tandem with the XV-LT’s as we really don’t have the manpower to be building both right now.
I’ll see what I can share as I learn more :D

It’s been a long time, but it’s a complex history they have.
What’s your email and I’ll shoot you over my thoughts.
