How does it drive?

Sometimes, if I’m headed for the subway and see a Highlander hybrid taxi, I’ll hail it. The seats are great, the ride is comfortable.

it’s pretty good, very comfortable, quiet with surprisingly not that much body roll. It feels substantial but doesn’t exhibit the nose dive under braking or bump reverberations that you get in the more truck like 4runner. My wife has an ‘09 RX350 which is the same platform, supposedly the camry wagon platform, this feels alot like a bigger one of those.

I heard they were supposed to be comfortable, even the 2nd row is supposed to be excellent. Looks to be very tall, I’d say almost as tall as the Yukon if not just as tall. One thing I do know is these can get pricey and yours being the top-of-the-line, I bet it far from cheap.
Overall it’s a pretty nice car, and if you’re happy with it then it’s money well spent.

Yeah the second row in limited trim is captain’s chairs with a fold down table/cupholder, they’re also heated and the 2nd row has it’s own climate controls and a 110 AC plug too. Add in the tint windows and pull up shades the back seat is definitely not a bad place to be. The third row I’m not so sure about.
New this is an MSRP around $47k w/the options, I bought the car used, 14 months old/17k miles, for around 18% off that. Being only so new I was able to score 1.99% for 60 from my CU.
I like it and plan to drive it for 10+ years so it’s worth the money to me. I figure if you’re going to sit in something everyday for 10+ years it should be a comfortable place to be.
I think the biggest thing for me is the driver technology package, the radar cruise is very convienent and accurate, it’s a little weird the first time it puts the brakes on for you. It has blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning using a camera that sees the lines on the road, parking/rear cross traffic sensors and a navigation system that also displays the speed limit of the road. The thing is like a steering control acuator away from driving itself.

Sounds like it has lots of stuff packed into it! The heated rear seats are a nice feature that seem to be popping up in all the new cars. I personally hate all that adaptive cruise and blind spot stuff but I’m old fashioned. The cameras throw me off, I just end up looking around me. I can’t use mirrors either, they’re set to aim at the ground when in reverse so I can see the curbs and lines.
It will definitely last the 10 years you plan on driving it, it is a Toyota after all.
