I will agree that there is too much Miata circle-jerk fan-wankery.

I will also say it would be nice to have another cheap, powerful, well-supported motor so we could swap something besides LS motors into things. The LS is just the best and most affordable option.

Nah, I am not LS everything. I do want to do a 13b rotary swap on a cappuccino and I think if I had to put a new engine in a Miata, I would use the Taurus SHO Yamaha V6. But if you want to see oppo as “LS everythingeverything”, you may do so

Well you do want to LS a plastic dust buster (I owned one and it was awesome and god awful at the same time). aha, but yes,, Oppo and jalopland has a weird fetish with LS everything. The strong opinion on the LS are worse than the straight-shave guy’s comments on Gillette facebook posts.

I’m not saying you are necessarily that way, but a lot around here are.

Maybe I should have rephrased that. I agree with you for the most part. If someone actually does an LS swap that’s okay for me. But it’s all of the 9-year-olds (at least they sound 9) on here that just say “LS SWAP IT BRUH”. Everyone always says stuff like that, but rarely does anyone do it.

Well Im not 9, but I am veru immature I assure you of that. Also, I am very guilty of the “LS swap it bro” mentality. And I have swapped an LS or two in my day.

I also support new Hemi and Viper V10 swaps. But they’re not as common unfortunately.
