I'm pretty sure it's legit. YouTube has become the place to get discovered. This guy has taken the route of trying to be catchy and create a new catchphrase to make a name for himself.

I saw these guys live once when I was in college. They were about an hour away and we got really drunk before we went. My buddy got punched in the face and a girl ripped my sweatshirt because I didn’t let her take my spot in the front row. That was a kick ass show.
