I don’t know what algorithm Google is using to find automotive related content for my news feed but they need to fix it. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Fuck this loser in particular. I had reservations about posting this and giving him more attention but it’s already out of hand thanks to Google promoting it on their news feed. This is not news, it is a desperate loser crying for attention.

Car Throttle is a cesspit anyway.

It’s been done before; even on here! No the Miata isn't perfect, but it's a 20+ year old sports car and a damn good one!

Relax. It's a satire piece. You are helping make his point with this post.

Yeah it’s popping up on my facebook and I’m not even subbed to Car Throttle. I did read it though for shits and giggles, what a shit stain article

How does it end up on my Google news feed is my question. Lots of better articles here but I’ve yet to see any OPPO content.

Yeah when you’re reduced to: “It’s got a stupid face” as a criticism you just need to stop, you’re embarrassing yourself.

So satire pieces are now considered legit news? So should Google start including Onion articles in my news feed?

He's just jelly of our Miata swag

Well none of the things he points out is wrong... But what he doesn’t realize is those things add to the cars charm...
And besides it has a satirical take on it anyway.

Yeah I get that it can be construed as satire but it’s on the Google news feed where that sort of thing doesn’t belong. (if that’s truly how he intends it to be taken) Most people who read it from there won’t see is as such.

Google news does not hand pick pieces for you to read. It selects based on popularity and subject matter. How was the algorithm supposed to know that you would get your underwear in a bunch after reading it?

It’s CarThrottle. They are comedy website no need to take it so seriously. Unless they hit a nerve in which case put your fanboi away, you’re scaring the children. Also:
Project MX-5: Introduction and Build Plan:
As someone who subs to them, this article was kind of needed. They’ve done so much MX5 content lately, it’s starting to get on everyone’s nerves.

They are rust-buckets, though. Mazda loves using long bolts through steel bushings in the suspension, so once the car is a couple years old not even God himself can get them apart. So when you need to replace bushing or a control arm, you have to bin the lot and start over. You can’t even get a decent alignment on them with factory components because the few adjustable bits are all seized in place.
Plus you can get so much more for the money! I live in Wisconsin, and the cheapest Miatas I can find are $2800 - for this
ratty Sunburst Yellow
one, or this
butchered Z3 conversion
. Do you know what else you can get on the local Craigslist for around $2800? This
‘98 BMW 528i
, this
‘92 Dodge Stealth ES
, this
‘88 Mustang 5.0L convertible
, and this
‘07 Crown Vic Police Interceptor
. All of which are much better value for the money than the Miata.
The Miata isn’t a terrible car, but it’s definitely, DEFINITELY overrated.

His list, in other words:
1. I don’t know how to drive fast.
2. I have no taste.
3. I’m insecure.
4. I don’t like talking to other car people.
5. Still insecure.
6. Yeah...insecure.
7. I don’t know how to properly maintain an automobile.
8. I have no concept of space efficiency.
9. I have no actual understanding of this car.
10. Nevermind. I’m just a troll.

Think Yahoo Auto News is the lowest of the low.

You have shitty friends if they mock you for driving an MX5. I got away with driving a bright blue Panda diesel...

Car Throttle is the “dude, really bro?” of auto news.

He’s got some good points.

I wouldn’t know because it isn’t spammed all over facebook like car throttle.

Good job evading the question.

Point being it was on my Google news feed. If it’s comedy/satire it doesn’t belong there.

This. This exactly.

I’d never rate a Dodge Stealth ES above a Miata in any way shape or form. Sure it may do the 1/4mi quicker but it’s a gigantic turd by comparison to a Miata.

What the hell are you talking about? Do yourself a favor and re-read the conversation.
![]() 06/17/2015 at 12:15 |

The Stealth is more visually interesting, and a lot more unique and rare.

I saw that Z3 conversion when I was looking at e30s. What an abomination.

1, 4, 8 and 9 are all plenty valid reasons why it is not the be-all, end-all of the car world, reasons why when it came to it, I bought a MS3 instead.
It is a very very flawed car and while I agree sometimes (most of the times) it’s what makes a car great, hell, it’s the reason I love the Abarth, but people on the Internet act like it’s the absolute perfection, second-coming of Jesus, etc. It’s not, the Miata is the car you buy when you can’t afford something better, but you are determined to get a RWD car.
![]() 06/17/2015 at 13:40 |

You bought a MS3?
![]() 06/17/2015 at 13:59 |

I’d struggle to say that about an ES or base model (same body style). If we were talking about a R/T or a R/T TT, sure.

A couple of years ago, one of my friends had a Miata, same color a year older than my Speed and I never liked it, when I asked hm why he bought it instead of a Speed he said he bought it because he wanted something that wouldn’t fit more people, strange reason, he now has a 135i
![]() 06/17/2015 at 14:22 |
|
How do you like your MS3?
![]() 06/17/2015 at 14:36 |
|
I’ve sold it now, I have a Golf 1.4 TwinCharger now.
The Speed is insane, beastly and confortable and practical; I sold it for reasons specific to mine, but the car itself is really quite amazing, it’s very unsophisticated and crude, but all the mechanicals are in there: LSD, great chasis, really good power. It’s kinda hard to drive properly fast, but if you manage to learn how and get good tires, you can pretty much beat anything out there and have insane amounts of fun.
Be warned it really warps your perception of other cars and speed, like I drove it back to back with a M135i that has 60hp more and I didn’t think the BMW was anything special really.

Even though I’m in the land of the stupidly expensive Miata, I see them if not daily then a couple times a week. It’s been over a year since I’ve seen a Stealth or a 3000 GT in person.

I see them at least once a week. Next week I’m going to the 3000GT/Stealth National Gathering... I’m a fan of the 3S, but the base models are in no way better than a Miata, IMO. I see Miatas less often here. All a regional thing, I guess.
